CrowdStar Integrates WildTangent's Brandboost Ad Platform

CrowdStar has integrated WildTangent's BrandBoost offers into its social games, allowing players to earn virtual goods in exchange for viewing videos or interacting with media ads.

The developer has implemented the advertising platform into some of its most popular titles, including Happy Pets, Happy Aquarium, and the newly launched It Girl. CrowdStar is the second biggest developer on Facebook according to its total number of monthly players -- the studio currently has nearly 54 million monthly active users.

WildTangent's BrandBoost allows gamers to earn free virtual goods or additional playing time in social games, virtual worlds, and free-to-play MMOs by engaging with a brand through "a large format rich media experience, typically consisting of a video with a skin."

The platform also enables developers to integrate branded virtual goods into social games, and supports third-party ad serving and reporting. WildTangent Media says BrandBoost is "fast approaching" a network of more than 100 million monthly Facebook gamers that the company can reach with its ads.

"Branded virtual goods are a hit with CrowdStar's gaming audience," says CrowdStar CEO Niren Hiro. "Such items are a win-win for consumers and brands as the virtual items play a central role in engaging and addictive game experiences that create affinity way beyond traditional web advertising."
