Taito has released Arkanoid HD ($4.99), an iPad edition of its classic brick-breaking arcade game, to the App Store. As with the iPhone/iPod Touch version that came out last year, this release features more than 100 stages, branching level progression, boss battles, and more.
The single-device, two-player Versus Mode that was also in the iPhone edition is also available here, though I expect the iPad's much bigger display will provide for a much more enjoyable experience for the same-screen matches.
And if you're in need of more iPad games that allow for a paddle-bouncing experience with a friend, don't forget to check out the previously mentioned PongVaders, from Koduca Games, indie game designer/pixelartist Anna 'Auntie Pixelante' Anthropy (Redder, Mighty Jill Off), and chip musician Jeremiah 'Nullsleep' Johnso.
